Pontchartrain Senior Living Apartments
New Orleans, Louisiana
Project Architect for the renovation and restoration of the Pontchartrain Hotel, originally constructed in 1927. The existing guestrooms were reconfigured and combined into Independent Living Apartments while the infamous ground floor spaces were restored to their original grandeur and to serve as social and dining areas for the residents. The objective of the renovation was to restore and preserve as much of the existing historical architectural elements as possible while providing for the new program requirements. Great care was taken to weave new mechanical and plumbing systems into the existing architectural fabric of the building as well as to provide a full building code upgrade.
Traçage Condominium Tower
New Orleans, Louisiana
Project Architect for a new 22-story residential condominium tower. The $50 million dollar development incorporated ground floor retail space, a 4-story parking garage, and 135 residential dwelling units. The configuration of the floor-plate, unit design, and floor-to-ceiling windows were all designed to take advantage of the high-rise views.
The design team was partnered up with a Joint Venture architecture firm and worked closely with the Construction/Estimating team of Yates Construction to develop a modern tower design, utilizing a cost effective metal paneling and glazing system.
