The Lafayette Hotel, located in the heart of the Central Business District on Lafayette Square, was originally constructed in 1916 and was among the first poured-in-place concrete structures in New Orleans. The renovation included recreating the building’s original lobby, restoring the entrance door and canopy and installing a large commercial kitchen. The scope also included the demolition of the existing interiors and the design of twenty-two luxury suites and twenty-two large individual guest rooms. The project has won several honors including the 1985 AIA New Orleans Chapter Honor Award, the 1985 CBD Historic District Landmarks Commission Honors Award, and the 1985 Louisiana Architects Association Honors Award.
TPA is currently working on various hotel upgrades.
