Trapolin-Peer Architects, in a Joint Venture with VMDO Architects, has been actively engaged with Trinity Episcopal Church and School to develop a 10+ year Master Plan for their campus located at 1315 Jackson Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. Nestled tightly into the Garden District neighborhood, the campus is composed of multiple connected, historic buildings including the original church and school which has been operating at its current location since 1960.
Working within the existing fabric, on a site with little room to expand, Trapolin-Peer + VMDO will provide Trinity with a phased Master Plan that will act as road map to identify campus improvement projects to be implemented over the next decade in the most cost efficient ways possible without disrupting their current school and church operations. To achieve this, Trapolin-Peer + VMDO have been working directly with Trinity leadership, faculty, and staff, as well as students to identify campus priorities and uncover opportunities for improvement that can be addressed in innovative ways through thoughtful design solutions.
Challenges to be addressed by the Master Plan include maintaining the historic character of the campus while introducing new 21st Century learning environments, and securing a safe school facility while enhancing connectivity to the church and surrounding neighborhood. The 10 Year Trinity Episcopal Church and School Master Plan was completed in the fall of 2019.
